CAD Design & Precision Cutting
Our expert design team uses the latest Autodesk 3D modeling software to create accurate designs for your parts. Every design is carefully built in a precise digital environment, ensuring perfect accuracy even before the metal is cut. This step saves you time and reduces mistakes.
Once your design is finalized, we use our advanced TRUMPF laser cutters to bring your project to life. Our machines handle metal sheets up to 80 inches wide, 156 inches long, and 1 inch thick, cutting with incredible precision and speed.
We work with many CAD file types including .dwg, .dxf, .ipt, .step, and more, making the design-to-production process smooth and fast.
Examples of parts we’ve designed and cut include:
- Air Grills
- Special "C" Channels
- Chain Hangers
- Cross Bracing Brackets
- Weldment I-Beams
- Spider Brackets
Bring us your idea, and we'll turn it into reality—quickly and precisely.
Welding
Our welding team makes sure your parts are securely joined and ready to use. We provide complete welding services so you don’t have to find another shop to finish your project.
We specialize in:
- MIG, TIG, and Spot Welding
- Steel and Aluminum Welding
- Stainless and Galvanized Steel Welding
- Sheet Metal and Diamond Plate Welding
Your welded parts will be strong, clean, and dependable.
Forming
Forming is the process of bending and shaping metal. At Dakota Plains Fabrication, we use high-tech CNC electronic press brakes to form your metal parts accurately every time. Our European-made tooling allows us to handle even the most challenging shapes and sizes.
Our forming capabilities include:
- CNC precision forming
- Parts up to 12 feet long
- Materials up to 3/16 inch thick
- Off-line software simulation to ensure accuracy before forming
We form various materials:
- Steel
- Aluminum
- Stainless Steel
- Sheet Metal and Metal Plate
- Galvanized Steel
Powder Coating
Powder coating protects your parts and makes them look great. We use a thorough 3-step process—wash, seal, and powder coat—to give your products a durable, attractive finish.
Our powder coating system can handle:
- Parts up to 8 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 5 feet high
- Parts weighing up to 400 pounds
- A wide selection of colors (custom colors available)
Powder coating makes your parts durable, rust-resistant, and visually appealing.
